As we walked through the Lenten season we have constantly being reminded that we have to repent, take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. We are not ignorant of the saying, “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of Christianity,” which gives us courage that the sacrifice of those who “shed their blood” in India, Iraq, Africa or other countries cannot be in vain. We need to submit ourselves to God’s plan which will be fulfilled in His time. There is no need to remind us that leading genuine Christian life, and definitely religious life is martyrdom and that we cannot be cowed down by some incidents of violence that can only harm our bodies. “If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable of all” (1 Cor. 15:19). Children of the resurrection we are compelled to give courageous witness to the Risen Lord. Happy Easter.
